Financial Reporting Manager

The Financial Reporting Manager will lead SchoolMatch's Reporting and Planning Team. This includes providing analytical support to the executive team including a focus on monthly financial analysis, and the review of financial reporting documents. The role also expands into assisting with plans/forecasts and ad-hoc analysis as required.

The successful candidate will need to possess strong analytical and technical skills and a clear ability to identify key business trends and issues. The candidate will also have strong communication skills to build relationships with various internal and externals stakeholders and the confidence to participate in senior-level discussions.

Major Activities
  • Analyzing results and understanding business initiatives in order to prepare value-added analysis in support of the SchoolMatch team
  • Work with the business to identify/validate key business assumptions and incorporate them into relevant analysis in order to enhance reporting capabilities
  • Presentation/review of analyses with senior management
  • Review month/quarter/year-end reporting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy as well as to provide business commentary on financial results
  • Maintain governance framework for key performance metrics including processes for initial definition, subsequent restatements, etc.
  • Provide financial knowledge and represent finance in various projects as required
Must Haves
Successful candidates must exhibit SchoolMatch's values of innovation, trust, teamwork, and accountability. Candidates should also express a passion for improving education in Canada.
  • An undergraduate degree, at a minimum
  • A business background and/or professional accounting designation (CA or CMA)
  • A strong strategic, critical, and analytical frame of mind
  • 3 years strong organization and administrative skills
  • 3 years of financial reporting experience
  • Excellent proficiency in PC Skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other standard business/finance packages

The Lead Data Analyst is a critical role at SchoolMatch Canada. Needless to say, we gather a lot of student and university information across Canada and are in need of a strong analytical mind to help us produce valuable insights from this information. With access to our proprietary data and the power to make critical data-based decisions for future initiatives, the Lead Data Analyst will be at the forefront of changing Canadian education.

Major Activities
  • Provide analysis and industry leadership in all aspects of dataset preparation and data management.
  • Manage monthly data export, translate, and load processes.
  • Provide insight and effectively present summarized findings for top-level management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data management strategies, in particular data quality strategies.
  • Be responsible for ensuring appropriate data change management procedures are followed.
  • Contribute to and initiate data acquisition and analysis projects as required.
  • Strive for continual development of knowledge and expertise in relevant business and data management disciplines.
Must Haves
